Charleston Southern is a Christian liberal arts university and is one of South Carolina's largest accredited, independent universities, enrolling 3,650 students. Affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention, the University's vision is to be a Christian university nationally recognized for integrating faith in learning, leading and serving.

The University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's degrees and master's degrees.
