Summerville/Dorchester Chamber Announces 2017 Scholarship Recipients
Summerville, SC – The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Division and Robert Bosch, LLC recently awarded four scholarships to local students, two $1,000 STEM scholarships and two $500 Technical College scholarships. These four students were chosen from over 60 applications for their scholastic achievement, work ethic, participation in extracurricular activities and community service. The Chamber Board of Directors and staff congratulate these students on this stellar achievement.
The recipients were recognized at the Chamber Board of Directors Meeting on May 16th. Brianna Rice and Abigail Alexander both received a $1,000 STEM Scholarship. Both future graduates of Ashley Ridge High School, Rice will attend The Citadel for Civil Engineering and Alexander will attend the University of South Carolina for Pharmaceutical Science.
The two students who received a $500 Technical College Scholarship are Devin June, Jr. and Kelly Johnson. June is a graduating senior at Woodland High School and will attend Greenville Technical College with a focus on engineering. Johnson is a graduating senior at Fort Dorchester High School and will attend Trident Technical College for Food Service Management.
