Summerville Evening Rotary Announces 501c3 Nonprofit Status
The Summerville Evening Rotary Club is proud to announce that we have been formally granted 501(c)3 non-profit status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Contributions donated to the Rotary Club of Summerville Evening Charitable Foundation, Inc. are fully tax-deductible.
Obtaining 501(c)3 status is a major milestone for the Summerville Evening Rotary Club. This opens many doors for us to increase fundraising activities, and will further broaden our access to apply for government and foundation grants.
Rotary’s main objective and motto is “Service Above Self”- in the community, in the workplace, and around the globe. We’re a hands-on club that completes one service project a month within the community, called “RAKS” (Rotary Acts of Kindness). Beyond our monthly RAKS, we have two large fundraisers each year- the Summerville Rockin’ the Ville Derby Party & Golf Tournament and Summerville Rotary Oktoberfest.
All net proceeds from these events support the local charities the Summerville Evening Rotary Club serves. Some of these include Dorchester Children’s Center, Katie’s Krops, Back Pack Buddies, and scholarships for Trident Technical College and Charleston Southern University.
We are beyond grateful for the ongoing partnership and support in the community, and are excited about the opportunity to expand our fundraising efforts.
The Rotary Club of Summerville Evening Charitable Foundation, Inc. Tax I.D. Number is 81-4730254. The IRS letter granting its 501(c)3 tax-exempt status is available upon request.
